A Charitable & Collaborative Service Relationship between the Catholic Community of Portland and Catholic Charities Maine
The Portland Matthew 25 Project is a collaborative effort of the Catholic community of Portland: the Portland Peninsula & Island Parishes, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Catholic Charities Maine, the Diocesan Chancery office, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Emergency assistance is available for winter clothing, food, and fuel to our neighbors in need. Thank you to all parishioners for your generosity and support of this important charitable outreach.
Please call (207) 712-5239 if you or someone you know is in need of assistance.
A church-based charitable service “responds to immediate needs and specific situations with more than “technical care,” but with genuine love and heartfelt concern that enables others to experience the richness and totality of their humanity, made in the image and likeness of God.” (Deus Caritas Est, 31)
