Eucharistic Adoration

O Come, Let Us Adore Him!

"In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host. Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration and teach it to the faithful. It is a source of comfort and light, particularly to those who are suffering."
-Pope Benedict XVI, February 22, 2007

-Matthew 4:10

These last several weeks we have placed bulletin notices and pre-Mass announcements, informing of the need for more Eucharistic Adorer Guardians to be present at the Cathedral Chapel on Wednesdays.  We have been seeking more of the faithful to come, people willing to commit to one regular and scheduled hour each week to be present with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration.  A few people did respond, but not sufficient to cover the entire 12 hour period.  Therefore, for the sake of proper reverence due Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, we will be taking a hiatus from the 12 hours of Adoration and offering 1 regular hour of Adoration each Wednesday, from 7pm to 8pm.  This 1 hour of weekly Adoration, starting Wednesday, February 1st, will be the schedule until the time comes when we can better and more effectively cover all the slots required for 12 hours of Adoration.  In the meantime, please mark your calendar for Wednesdays, from 7pm to 8pm.  Let’s fill the Cathedral Chapel each and every Wednesday, from 7pm to 8pm, with hearts full of love, awe, wonder and gratitude, in the Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ, truly present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Blessed Sacrament.  If you have questions or for more information on how to become a Eucharistic Adorer Guardian, please call Mary at 773-7746.

You are also invited to a Eucharistic Holy Hour each Thursday at:
Saint Louis Church from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Saint Christopher Church from 11:00am to 12:00pm

Notice About Inclement Weather:
Please recall that if there is inclement weather, stay tuned to your local radio and television stations. Eucharistic Adoration at the Cathedral Chapel follows the snow days of the Portland Public School System. If the schools in Portland are closed, that means that there will not be Eucharistic Adoration. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Pastoral Center office.
